The Artist
Andrew Scott is a painter whose work combines classical training with contemporary subjects. His technique is characterised by impulsive brush strokes, a vibrant palette, and layered light and shadow. His works convey a sense of poignant urgency, capturing the fleeting beauty of ephemeral moments. He travels frequently for consultations, artwork sales, and to source ideas, artefacts, antiques and materials from ancient cities.

The Studio
The classical line, where every figure begins.
Screen printing — the figure pulled through mesh.
Archival paper — the edition, the proof.
Weave, primer, tooth — the surface that resists.
The frame — cut, gilded, and made an opponent.
The break — where the picture stops being a picture.
Classical drawing, practised until the figure moves on its own.
Cut, gilded, glazed. Not packaging — the work's opponent.
The glass goes. The figure steps through.
The Collected
Objects, artefacts and antique materials gathered on his travels — carried home and absorbed into the work.
Over a billion views.
